Megaphone TV’s interactive technologies enjoyed a front row seat for the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards, live from Miami April 30th on Telemundo.
Through Megaphone TV, Telemundo invited viewers to be a part of the ceremonies by directly choosing who should present the “Latin Rhythm Album of the Year” award along with NBC Universo’s Yarel Ramos.
Live voting was open during the show and throughout the day through Telemundo’s Megaphone-enhanced mobile and desktop website telemundo.com/juega.
Recaps of running live totals were shown twice during the ceremony as a lead up to the final awards presentation later in the show.
Audience favorite Isabella Castillo, along with Ramos, presented Wisin with the “Latin Rhythm Album of the Year” award. The awards show enforced its digital presence with award winners revealed on stage by smartphone and not by opening an envelope.
This year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, hosted by Gaby Espino and Megaphone-enhanced “La Voz Kids” coach Pedro Fernandez, was the highest rated in Telemundo’s history and was #1 in its time period in New York, Miami, Houston and Phoenix among adults 18-49, regardless of language, according to Nielsen.
