Megaphone TV’s Live Participation Technology Enhances NowThis’ Second Presidential Debate Coverage on Facebook Live and Periscope

Megaphone TV’s live, interactive participation technology launched on Facebook Live and Periscope through a seamless integration with NowThis’ live coverage of the second Presidential Debate of 2016, held on Sunday, October 9th between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump at Washington University in St. Louis.

As part of a comprehensive Facebook Live user experience, Megaphone TV designed a single-page custom interface, available at vote.nowth.is, which seamlessly integrated NowThis’ coverage through Facebook Live, Megaphone TV’s participation technology, and Facebook’s event-linked real time comments.

For the first time on Facebook Live, watchers of the debate had a single online destination to watch and participate in the discussion by both voting and commenting during the 90-minute debate as it unfolded.  NowThis producers invited viewers to join the conversation by asking a series of timely questions which ranged from instant audience moderator ratings to reactions on the impact for Trump of “Access Hollywood” tapes released two days before the debate.
