KUSA Colorado U.S. Senate Debate Adds Interactive TV Component

Viewers of TEGNA's NBC Denver affiliate KUSA had opportunities to participate directly in their pre-Election Day 2016 Colorado U.S. Senate debate by answering the same questions posed by the moderators to the candidates.

In the 60 minute debate which was also streamed to Facebook Live, incumbent Democratic Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and Republican challenger Darryl Glenn discussed the issues in a lively debate and answered questions from KUSA debate moderators.

The home audience also participated in the debate by answering the same questions posed to the candidates.  When asked "What should happen to Obamacare?" a majority of the Denver audience voted that Obamacare should be repealed and replaced.  When asked about whether the audience had confidence in the effectiveness of the Iran nuclear deal architected by the Obama administration, the voting remained split, with a final result of 48% "yes" to 52% "no."
